An intro to my time Down Under

For anyone who hasn't been following me on Instagram, I've had a pretty busy five weeks travelling around Australia. It's been a mad month (6 planes, 5 trains, 9 boats, 15 buses and more walking than I thought possible...) and with limited access to decent wifi, posts have had to be put on hold. However I'm back in the UK and planning and penning again as well as busying myself with freelance work – so more content will definitely be on the way soon.

Visiting Australia has always been on my list, but with working full-time and never more than a week off, until now I hadn't had the chance. Luckily my circumstances changed, I quit my job and decided it was the time to go. It took all my savings (it hurts to look at my bank balance) but it was definitely worth it.

I'd like to say I live the luxury life, but unfortunately that's not always the case. My desire to travel outweighs my need to stay five star – obviously I'd love to stay in swish hotels all the time, but for my current budget that wasn't possible. During the trip to Oz we stayed mainly in hostels with occasional upgrades along the way, and it was the perfect mix.

For anyone trying to budget a trip to Australia I'll be posting my breakdown soon. As well as this I'll be sharing all my different experiences and recommendations, and of course, filling the internet with millions of photos...
